CARE

Care as a Ritual

Caring for your garments is an extension of the making process. Gentle care allows natural materials, handwoven fabrics, & botanical dyes to soften, settle, & evolve over time. These small, considered acts help preserve the integrity of each piece and honor the care with which it was made.

General Care

Hand-crafted textiles are naturally sensitive and should be treated with intention. We recommend gentle hand washing in cool to warm water using a natural soap, followed by air drying flat. This helps maintain the natural color & structure of the fabric.

For a quicker option, garments may be machine washed inside out on a short, gentle cycle using a natural detergent and laid flat to dry. Tumble drying & dry cleaning are not recommended, as heat & harsh chemicals can weaken fibers & alter the natural fibers.

Botanical Dyes

Garments dyed with plant-based pigments may shift subtly over time. These changes are natural & part of what makes each piece unique. Wash gently & infrequently when possible, allowing color to mature & soften with wear.

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight while drying, as plant based dyes are sensitive to UV light.

Handwoven Fabrics

Handwoven textiles carry slight variations in texture & weave reflecting the human hand behind their creation. To preserve their structure, wash gently & avoid agitation. Support the garment when wet and allow it to air dry naturally.

With time & wear, handwoven fabrics relax & become more supple, developing character unique to each wearer.

Hand Block Prints

Hand block printed garments should be washed with particular care. We recommend hand washing separately in cool water with a natural soap, especially for the first few washes. Avoid rubbing or wringing printed areas, as pigment is applied slowly & by hand.

Over time, prints may soften, a natural result of traditional printing techniques.

Hand Knits

Hand-knit pieces are delicate by nature & benefit from gentle handling. Wash sparingly & by hand in cool water using a natural soap. Do not twist or wring. Gently reshape while damp & lay flat to dry.

Proper care helps maintain the shape, softness & hand feel of the knit over time.

Repair & Longevity

Thoughtfully made garments are designed to be worn, repalred, & kept. Small signs of wear are part of a plece's life & story. If you have questions about care, repalrs, or extending the life of your garment, we welcome you to
